HPE Simplivity architecture add bigger models.

The HPE SimpliVity architecture added three more models to expand their Hyper Converged portfolio. This directly give clients more options to customize their solution. See a previous review here to learn more about their product.

HPE Simplivity architecture

SimpliVity 380 H (SFF)

The new H series from HPE includes 4 SSD’s and 20 SFF 1.2TB HDD drives. It added some small form factor disks if you look at the previous versions.

SimpliVity 380 G

The SimpliVity 380 G, does not have a hardware accelerator card. In the older model you can do not have that option so this one can be used for more purposes.

What’s New – according to HPE

  • HPE Simplivity 380 supports both 12 SSD or 16 SSD kits offering higher capacity software optimized nodes.
  • HPE SimpliVity now supports 2nd Generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors.
  • HPE SimpliVity now supports HPE StoreOnce, for customers who need a simple, cost effective, efficient, archiving solution to centralize data, lower costs, or adhere to long term backup policies.

Conclusion

HPE struggled a bit in the HCI market and although there are some advantages on the newer SimpliVity it is nothing that you cannot find somewhere else already.
